Days 68-70

Yes you are getting another weekend re-cap all in one. Friday I took off a few hours early from work so that we could head to Wilmington sooner rather than later. Stephanie and I hit the road around 4pm and made it to Nate's by 5:45...love Steph's ability to get anywhere a little early than you expected :-D

Once we were there we had to kill some time waiting on Nate's sister and her boyfriend to get back before we could start the evenings festivities. So, we hung around talking for a while and then went to Chick-fil-a for dinner, got it to go, and headed out to Wrightsville beach. It was colder than we expected but we still had a blast, we ate our dinner in a gazebo and then took a walk on Johnny Mercer's Pier. We had fun taking pictures on the pier and goofing off. Then Dan called to say that they were almost at the house. So we headed back and Steph and I changed to be all cute and fixed our hair before we went out to David's place in Shallotte.

We were anticipating leaving way earlier but in actuality we didn't leave until 10pm and then it's about a 45 minute drive to get there. Once we were at David's everyone hung out for a while and then we all loaded up into the Off Roading Vehicles and went down the road a ways to a place David likes to take his jeep to play in the muck. We drove over giant sandy hills and splashed through big huge mud puddles that were deep enough when we hit them we lost the headlights in all the muck! It was way fun! After that we headed out into some deeper off road area where Nate and Dan and David were going to shoot some hand guns, just a few shots and just for fun. Nate fired off a few rounds and then asked me if I wanted to...heck yes! So, I got out and he showed me how to use the gun...I shot the first bullet and RING!!! My ears just started ringing...oooh yeah we forgot about that LOL. Nate took his hands and pressed them over my ears and I fired a few more shots into the embankment, it was my first experience firing a really real gun. I was exhillerated. After all the fun we headed back to Wilmington to crash by like 6am... and we had a 10:30 appointment to view a house later that day!

Saturday morning with great trepidation we got up showered and headed out to check out a few houses. We only really loved one house but the yard was far too small for my dogs and so we had to pass that up. We looked at about 4 places and didn't really get that "tingly all over" feeling about any of them. So, I guess we just keep looking. We joked about buying a house instead and just splitting the mortgage and then we wouldn't have to deal with wierdo landlords or mean/difficult to deal with real estate companies. Not that we have the money for that or really even the credit for it but hey, girls can dream can't they?

After the house search we decided it was nap time and layed down to sleep for about three hours. After that we got up and went to play volleyball at Capt'n Bill's with Nate's fried Steven. After about an hour of freezing our feet off we took a bit of a break and watched Nate and Steve play a little one on one volleyball...those boys are so crazy. Then Steve had two friends show up and we played three on three. Not any real game but just a little fun back and forthing. It was really great and I had a blast. Before long it was seriously time to go warm my feet up and get some food in my tummy! So we headed back home where Steph and I browsed homes for sale on the computer while Nathan cooked up some stir fry for dinner. It was delicious!!! After dinner we all went to the living room and watched The Illusionist. I really enjoyed the movie, excellent choice, check it out if you haven't seen it yet. And then we lost an hour and ended up going to bed way too late again. Stupid daylight savings crapola!

Sunday, Steph and I had a house appointment at 10:30 so we were going to hit that up go to relief society in the family ward and then attend the Single Adult Sacrament Meeting at 12:30, except it's at 2:15 and we had to be at Nate's house at 2:00 for a Birthday lunch for his dad. So we just barely hit Relief Society (we only got about 30 minutes of church in...but hey isn't something better than nothing?) and then asked about the Sacrament meeting, when we found out it was at 2 instead of 12:30 we decided to head back to the house, change and go play at the beach for a bit. So we grabbed Nate and drove to Wrightsville for about 30 minutes and played around in the cold water and goofed off on the sand. It was really nice to just hang out and be silly. Then we headed back for lunch and cake with the family. After that we took a walk with Nathan and his brother David through their neighborhood and then it was time to get back on the road.

Ahhhh and now I'm back at home. If nothing else this weekend was fun, exciting, and made realize how much I really would love to call Wilmington home for a while. :-) And now I'm off to snuggle in my bed and read a book before passing out super early so I can get some extra sleep that I missed out on all weekend.

I didn't drive THAT fast. But I guess faster than most people, apparently. haha! I especially drive faster when I'm going TOWARD the beach. :)
