Day 104

I spent so much time editing photos at work today LOL! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone. No but after I finished all my work in spurts I spent a lot of time editing the pictures I took of Todd and Emily on Sunday. It's hard work because I'm trying out a new program someone told me about (it's called aviary.com and it's pretty cool) and I'm horrible at editing people because I LOVE to turn up the Saturation levels so everything is super BRIGHT but then when people are in the picture it can turn them either red, orange, or very pink. Luckily this new program allows me to do layering which is way cool because I can crop a persons face paste it on a new page (it pastes it in the exact same spot it was on the original image) and then turn up the colors and then flatten the layers back together and WOO! They have normal skin tones while the backgrounds look amazing! I think one of my favorite parts of taking pictures, is getting to play with them afterwards.

Now, I know there's a lot of people out there that are purists and believe that you should let the camera do the talking for you and that you should let the pictures represent themselves...but those people have really spectacular lenses usually. They're not walking around with a crappy point and shoot that gives you very bland colors. The most amazing part of the pictures I post is that the color is punched up to about 30. Did you ever watch Pushing Daisies? I LOVE the saturation in that show! In the extras they talked about how they wanted to make it bright, so they turned up the saturation levels post filming, this is how I feel about my photographs. I want them to be beyond realistic with color so that it draws your eyes right to it! And can I just tell you how much I miss that show now that it's off the air? Well, that's a rant for another day.

After work today I went by my parents house to get my car back. I've been driving dad's Buick LeSabre since Sunday because he's had my car to get the AC fixed before the heatwave that is summer strikes. After that I went home and changed into workout clothes. UGH! Today is the first real day that I've worked out since I got sick three weeks ago. I know I just undid all the good I was doing by working out every day. It's okay though I can pick back up where I left off, really. It felt pretty good to get the workout done but I'd much rather come home directly after work and get it done right away because the longer I put it off the more lazy I start to feel. After that I had my post-workout protien shake and added some frozen fruit I bought to it...it was way more filling than usual so I only made a piece of fish and some asparagus for dinner.

Here's some of the pics pics:
