Step 1: Know Somebody

Today I made the first step towards something new. I'm tired of jobs. I'm tired of just working all day, every day for a paycheck with no other rewards. I want to work somewhere that I feel accomplished after a long day at the office, I wanna have a place of employment where my co-workers and I actually get along and like one another, I want something long term! I'm so tired of a job I want a career! The problem seems to be that I don't know anybody.

I keep hearing from people all over the place..."It's all about who you know!" Well dang! How the heck do you get to know people?? I mean I have no connections within most professions...if I wanted to be a P.I. I've got my dad and if I wanted to get into law there's my brother and his people and if I wanted to get into music I could chat up my half brother but these jobs just aren't for me. Well, the P.I. thing I could totally do! But my dad would rather I not get into that sordid world and I tend to agree after the things and people I've seen just in his interviews. UGH! So, who else do I know??

My roommate! She has a big family. One of her sisters is slightly connected in the industry that I have recently become quite interested. So, today I sent her an email in the hopes that it will lead me somewhere before long. I don't' want to say too much because I for sure don't want to jinx it yet but I'm kind of excited because I'm actually taking some initiative!
