Today Is What You Make It
And I'm making today a crappy day. :-/ Lame, I should just suck it up and think about things that will make me happy instead of being annoyed, pissed off, and lonely.
It's this place. Everyone in this place is miserable and treats everyone else like shit and so they drag you down with them...I swear you can feel it before you enter the door. It oozes from the cracks in the door and tries to wrap itself around you as you walk inside! It makes you want to turn and run the other way but you know that doing that will cause more problems than you can handle right now so you just go on in and sit down and hitch on a fake smile and pretend not to notice how rude, inconsiderate and impossibly annoying everyone around you is. *sigh*
So in order to make my day something it is not I'm going to try very hard to ignore that disturbing, oozing mist of slacker and misery and think about the hopeful things in my life right now!
I got journals! I am so happy about that, I've been writing in at least one every day, usually though I write in all of them. I now have the following: A diet journal, a goal journal, a personal thoughts and experiences journal, a travel journal, and a spiritual journal. Whew! That's a lot of writing! And I love every second of it! I haven't used a pen to really write things in so long it made me sad when my hand crapped out on the first line! Okay it wasn't that soon but still you get the picture.
I am enrolled in a Wedding Planning class through Wake Tech. It starts September 14 and that day can not get here fast enough! I'm telling you man it's unreal how excited I am to experience this class. I got a cute little notebook and bought some pens for taking notes in class. I'm a dork but that's okay at least I know it already and don't try to hide it ;-)
I have applied for new jobs! I had an interview with the Department of Justice's Private Protective Services Division last Friday. I'm not sure if I'll get it and that's okay. If they don't want me, someone else does! I've applied for a job with the Department of Agriculture and another one with NC State where my friend Sofia works. I also found a posting on Craigslist for an internship with a Wedding Planning Company and I applied for that! In the email I made sure to notify them that I'd still have to keep an 8-5 job to pay my bills but I am available evenings and weekends and would work twice as hard to get there...well I didn't say that last part but I should have! LOL. So keep your fingers crossed and me in your prayers because I'm going to need all the help I can get to get where I need to go.
Okay good. I already feel this day perking up!

Isn't it funny how as you get older and realize what you really want to do, you get all goofy and excited about it? I think going back to school is hilarious when you are older because you look at the other young-uns around you and think, sheesh, these kids have no idea about life. Brad went back to get a bachelors in finance just to make him more legit and I swear he knows more than his instructor about capital markets and economics. School is such a farce in that respect. The only way you really learn about marketable trades is by doing and through your natural talents. Know what I mean?
Yeah :-) It's kinda crazy how that works! lol. I think the problem is they pay teachers and professors so little that the people who actually have the intelligence to really TEACH the younger generation aren't willing to take on the jobs. There are very few really great teachers out there in the world. It's sad. But I'm hoping I can at least learn a few things about where to get started and then really jump into that world. Who knows maybe I'll get that internship and they'll be willing to work around my schedule and I can wow them ;-)
