Taking Things Too Far
Recently I had a conversation about our President and how he forced the USPS to create a Muslim Stamp, what an Obamanation (insert snicker here), in the same conversation I was told that he announced that the US was not considered a Christian Nation oh and there's some guy suing Obama to see his Birth Certificate proving he's a natural born citizen of the US. So today I decided to do some reasearch. Mostly I just wanted to see these things in context before drawing my own conclusions... I have found the following:
Muslim Stamp:

The stamp was not issued by Obama, it already existed so this is just people searching for things to make him look worse but in the end are going to make themselves look unintelligent because they're not doing their research before they make an accusation.
The US is not a Christian Nation:

...not quite what he said. He was in Turkey giving a speech and this is what people are going off of:
Then here's a link talking about the guy suing Obama to see his Birth Certificate:

He sounds like a lunatic suing people left and right over this. I understand his desire to see the certificate stating where the president was born but now he wants to sue the Democratic National Party for not checking on these things to begin with and he's saying he should sue the media for not doing their research either. I agree that he should stick to his guns about finding out the truth but personally, I think he's taking it too far and making himself look like a wacko.
Sadly, I think that these people jumping to conclusions and trying too hard to find something wrong with everything the man says and are going to do more damage than good. Without a legitimate argument they're just going to make people think that they're on a witch hunt and it will turn people away from seeking the truth. I'm not saying that I approve of him or that I agree with what he's doing, I'm only saying that people really need to do their research and pick their arguments here, not just nit-pick at every little thing that comes out of his mouth and take it out of context and blow it out of proportion. People need to calmly and rationally seek the truth and find the facts to back it up...only then will they succeed.
Okay, there's my political speel for the day :-P

I actually have to admire what he said because it's very true. This nation was founded on Christian principals but the reason we separated from England was to escape religious persecution and being forced to be one specific religion. So, no the US does not consider itself SOLELY a Christian Nation, we're a Nation that allows anyone of any religion to practice their own beliefs.“one of the great strengths of the United States is that it does not
consider itself a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values. I think modern Turkey was founded with a similar set of principles.” (CNN)
