Day 16

Today was quite the interesting day! Nathan came over last night and told me that we were going to see the big kitties. So we got up early and met up with his sister and her (for lack of a better term) boyfriend and his Marine friend and we all drove up to Mebane to the Conservators' Center. http://www.conservatorscenter.org/index.cfm
You can't go without a reservation and ours was at 12:00 but because they didn't do their homework and find out how long the drive was we were thirty minutes late. But it was okay because after the initial tour because we showed up late one of the girls took us to see the first part of the tour that we'd missed. It was really awesome! I got to see wolves, Binturongs, Servals, Singing Dogs (unfortunately we didn't get to hear them sing), Bobcats, Lions and Tigers and so much more! It was smelly but fun. I have pictures I just haven't loaded them off my camera yet. You should check out their website though and see all the pretty animals they've got. The most interesting parts of the tour...getting to see a little Discovery Channel action between two lions (wow...never wanna see that again!) and seeing the dead carcuses of large animals laying around...did you know that lions and tigers will eat horses? Yeah!

After the tour we drove back to Dan's house and grilled out for dinner. Dan insisted on going to get a tattoo and Christy (Nate's sister) wasn't to happy about that and wanted to go do something with Nathan and I...so we grabbed Dan's Marine friend and went to the mall for a few hours. It was pretty funny because the boys were complaining about having to go shopping and they ended up being the only one's to go buy anything...go figure! lol. The best part of that trip was the entire hour we spent inside of Z Gallerie, it was so much fun looking around at all the amazing things in that store.

Then it was time to go home and pass out from exhaustion. A truly interesting day indeed!
