Best Weekend EVER!

I had such an awesome time this past weekend and now that I'm home and back at work it seems like it was all just a dream, luckily I have picture proof that I was there.
We arrived Saturday afternoon and went over to Vinny's and hung out with Vin talking for a while and then we played with the Wii, well more like I played with the Wii. It was so fun and then Vinny and Pattie got home and we had dinner with them and talked a lot, Brenna really enjoyed getting to meet them. I swear I love Pattie like she's my own mom (I love my mom more but just so you get the idea).

I made plans to hang with Adam and we got back to the Harts at 11 so I grabbed my hiking boots and my bag and Brenna crashed. Adam picked me up and drove out to the Road to Nowhere. Adam likes to hike in the dark with no flashlights so yeah I had a really hard time with that, I made him hold my hand while we walked through the tunnel...that part has always freaked me out no matter how many people I'm with. When we got to the other side we climbed to the top of the tunnel and sat down and goofed off and talked for a long time. I love how smart he is, it's amazing the things that he knows, for instance he determined it was time to go when he heard coyotes...I thought it was an owl but he said it had more of a whine than a hoot. I don't, however, like the fact that he drives like a freaking maniac. I've never been a fan of being in a car driving really fast when I'm not the one behind the wheel, he thought it would be funny to do a little spontaneous off roading, NOT cool.

Juney Whank

Sunday we went to church and since it was the fifth Sunday there was a potluck and it was tasty. Afterwards Brenna, Adam and I went hiking to some waterfalls out at Deep Creek in Bryson. That was pretty cool actually. I was sad that the falls were a little puny but that's to be expected when there hasn't been all that much rain lately. We only had enough time to hit up two falls in the same area, Tom Branch and Juney Whank falls. There was supposed to be a CES Fireside on BYU TV that night so we had to be back in time for that since Susan was making dinner. Adam is crazy and hiked in his bare feet. Brenna was on the phone for the first half of the hike, with her boyfriend Kyle...he's in Afghanistan so we allowed it lol. We took some pictures of Juney Whank and then went on to the next waterfall, Tom Branch was a lot more fun because we waded across Deep Creek and climbed the falls and took pics on them.

When we got back to the Harts Brenna took my car and went to hang out with her friend Heather. I had dinner with Adam and his sister and Butch then we went downstairs to watch the fireside at 8 and found out that it wasn't until 9 so we ate dessert. Susan and Butch have been doing some remodeling and they now have a porch swing downstairs under their deck and I was just dying to try it out so I went outside and ate my brownie on the swing. Adam came out and sat with me and we talked until his sister came out to let us know that the fireside was not this week but NEXT week, the one they were showing was a repeat. So we sat and talked for a little while longer and he took his sister home before coming back to get me and going up to Devil's Courthouse. Unfortunately I did not get to experience standing on top of the courthouse because a storm was rolling in while we were driving up the parkway, it was SO amazing. Adam explained to me how you could tell it was a storm and not just fog because the clouds were moving not just sitting still, he even stopped the jeep and we watched the clouds come and go in the headlights, it was too cool. We got up to the pull off/ parking area for the courthouse and the clouds were so thick we couldn't even see the rock out there and it was FREEZING cold! I wore long sleeves and a jacket and my teeth were still chattering, Adam was in shorts, a t-shirt and flip flops but apparently mountain boys don't get cold so easily.

Brenna and I left about 12 from the Harts' house and had to make a stop to eat lunch at the most AMAZING Mexican restaurant that has ever existed, Colima's. It was just as fabulously good as we remembered. Then came the perilously long drive back to Raleigh, Brenna slept most of the way and I wished I was sleeping. But we made it back and now I'm so desperately sad to get back to the mountains again. I miss everyone there so much!

I am glad you had a great time. :)

Did you ever hear anything back from the job interviews? Did I miss that post? How was Amber's visit?
