The Interview

The good news:
the interview went very VERY well.

The Bad news:
It was for a different position than I thought and pays way less.

I had applied for two jobs at the same place, one back in April and the other, much more recently, in May. So when I got the call that they wanted to interview I just assumed it was for the first one I'd applied for. For those of you who aren't familiar with the state of NC's hiring process it takes F O R E V E R!!!! So it was a shock when I got to my interview and the job I was interviewing for was not the one I had anticipated it being. Luckily, the first job is a much more difficult position and so I prepared with better answers than usual so I felt extremely confident when answering the questions they asked me.

The job is in the "Forensics" section of the hospital as a Processing Assistant IV (that means the pay starts at $24,6~). To top off all the confusion I was having the job wasn't even what I thought it would be either. When you hear Forensics, you think science. Well this is more of a "science" of the mind. Basically the section is for the people that have used the insanity plea... the "forensics" part comes into play when they try to figure out if the person is actually crazy or if they're faking it to avoid the death penalty. I wouldn't have MUCH direct contact with any of the patients but there might be some, very minimal, and I would be accompanied by a guard. Lovely. I'm still game.

Now, whether or not I accept the job is all going to hinge on how much they offer me. I still have to call her back with one of my references because I wasn't informed that I should bring references to the interview. Oddly enough I remembered two people's contact info off the top of my head and so I only have to call her with one. I should go do that. So now it's just more wait and see time.

AND PS- Thanks to everyone that wished me luck, I think that really paid off :-)

That'd be an awesome job! Getting to work with criminal masterminds... see if they really are insane or not. How cool!
