2 Liters
Most of you know that health professionals everywhere recommend that you get at least 2 Liters of water per day. I recently replaced all the soda I was drinking with good 'ol H2O. The thing is, I've only been able to manage about 1 Liter and some days 1.5 but the thing that's been bothering me about this whole drinking water thing is the amount of time I've been spending in the restroom as a result.
I'm glad that I've been able to drink so much water, I'm kind of a water snob so it's been incredibly impressive that I've been able to choke down so much water lately. But I just don't understand... why are we supposed to drink so much water if all we're gonna do is pee it right back out again? I swear if I ever make it to a full 2 Liters a day I'm gonna have to take up permanant residence in the restroom!
I'm not bringing this up to be gross or because I love talking about toilets. It's just I'm wondering if this will ever balance out to some kind of normal again. I hate having to get up from my desk and walk to the bathroom 3 times in one hour. Although I must say I have been getting more exercise as a result, you know pacing back and forth all the way down the hall. So maybe I'll be able to convince management to install a toilet in my cubicle in place of my chair!

I actually had this discussion with Dr. Steele, our urologist. He said the more you drink the more you pee and that's about all there is to it. Obviously if your roofing a house then you need more water to stay hydrated. If you are sitting at a desk and peeing every 5 minutes then you have drank too much. The whole point is to stay hydrated... not drown yourself. :)
