New Years Eve

Almost every year since I was about ooooh 14 I spent New Years either at home or at a church function. This year it will be the latter...but I couldn't be more excited about it. This year is my turn to be in charge...with my calling as the Activities Committee Chair I get to plan dance and this is my biggest yet. Last year Jennifer did the whole Willy Wonka themed dance and it was a fabulous event so I do have some big shoes to fill here.

This year we're having a Masquerade Ball. Our church has strict rules about mask wearing and hiding your identity so we'll have to have the masks you hold and not the ones you wear. I love the idea regardless and some people are even getting super creative and doing the whole "Ever After" makeup mask thing. The idea for this dance came from a failed attempt at a relationship lol, the guy I was seeing had been watching Labrynth and said "Now that's what I'd like to go to...a Masquerade Ball" and so the idea was born. Six months in the making and a lot of last minute guess work and this thing is ready to be put together.

I'm spending the entire day out at the church transforming the gym into a ballroom. The best part is how much fun it's going to be. I haven't dressed up for a dance in so long (since college) and I'm super excited to see everyone in their fanciest clothes and having a good time. I can't believe how fun this has been even with all the stress of trying to find decorations to fill the gym so no one will even recognize it.

I spent about two weeks worth of time here and there making my dress for the event and I think I told my mom about 20 times last night that I'm never making another dress again. I love it though, it's an original one of a kind Ariel creation. I'm very excited to finally get to wear it. I'll be sure and take loads of pictures all night so that I'll have something to report at a later date...you probably wont hear from me for a few days as I'm moving tomorrow!

YES! The moving day is finally here! Jordan and I are finally getting to move all our crap into our new house..and there WILL be a house warming party soon!
