Marriage
This year has been the year of weddings and engagements for me. Not ME specifically but I've watched a LOT of my friends (and even some family) take those next steps in their life and it has truly been an exciting time. I can't keep track of the number of people that were married this year let alone all the engagements, there were just so many.
I don't want to offend anyone by leaving someone out so I'll name a few of my closest friends that finally tied the knot...Sara and Paul, I was sooo excited about that wedding; Brian and Cherrie (I may have spelled her name wrong), Travis and Jessy, Becca and Chip, Amy and Robert, Jason and Katy, and Brian and Lesha...I love that God used me in that last one ;-) I like to say that I helped those two get together but that's a lie, God was the all powerful hand in most of these marriages especially Brian and Lesha. They met at the YSA Conference that as the Activities Committee Chair I had to come up with and put on but the two of them getting together there was the result of a much higher power.
As for engagements, the ones I'm most excited about are Kelly and Jericho (I love these guys together they are amazing!), Mollie and Josh (just getting to know these two but they are fabulous people) and of course Brenna and Kyle! I saved the best for last because I can segue into that one...
My family finally got to meet Kyle (I had met him years ago before he left for Germany) this week after he proposed to Brenna in SLC Utah on Temple Square at Christmas time with all the pretty decorations and lights. I'm sure it was quite frigid since they were dressed up in their fancy clothes and had just come from the ballet. But I'm sure it was also very beautiful. I love my sister and Kyle is an amazing guy. Brenna has been through so much when it comes to relationships and she brought a lot of it on herself but I have never seen anyone shine quite like she does when she is just talking about Kyle. She calls him her Penguin because supposedly penguins search their whole lives for one mate and then they stay together till the end. I think it's a sweet story and I can't wait to see how theirs unfolds. They will either be married in April or June. If they get married in April she'll be moving to Germany to live until June when they'll move to California and if they get married in June she'll move straight to Cali.
I guess this means next year's gonna be a big one for weddings as well....
