Trying My Patientce
I really want to try and stop writing my gripe blogs but as a person that gripes regularly, I'm not making much progress.
I'm so tired of incompetent people. The jobs these people are given are hardly difficult and take up less time than it takes to tie your shoes. And yet, when asked to assist someone with other duties they claim if it's not in their job description they can say no. I beg your pardon? Sure you can say no but do you want to keep your job? I mean that is afterall insubordination, if management makes the request of course, and insubordination is a notable offence and three strikes CAN actually get you kicked out.
It's not just the lack of motivation to help out other people, it's the fact that they don't even do the job they were hired to do, correctly. Posting the wrong bid forms online and not making corrections when asked. The problem is management though. When these things are reported to them they do nothing to rectify the situation. Instead of actually calling that person into their office and telling them directly what they're doing wrong...they call a staff meeting and make generalized requests. Sorry, but that's no way to run a business...you don't request things you demand them. That's what's wrong with State Government, they're all so skiddish when it comes to demanding excellence from their employees!
I wish I had the balls to stand up, walk into that office, and say DUDE! This is what's wrong with this office and this is how you need to fix it! Stop letting the inmates run the assylum! Sheesh!!! Alas, I don't have the balls of steel it would take for me to accomplish this dream. Perhaps some day I will finally have a job where people are professional and take their work seriously...I pray for it daily.

Love reading your blog...it's very amuzing :) I agree that government run businesses (including schools) are usually poorly run. My school just had to drop about 25 teachers. Do you think they did it based on those who were most qualified and who worked the hardest? Nope...they fired you solely based on your hire date. Those hired last were fired. Stupidity defined!! Good luck with your co-workers. How're you liking your new desk in the front?
