Canceled

So my medical transcription class was canceled. As in for good. But I honestly think it was a blessing because after they canceled it I decided to look a little deeper into finding a job in the MT field. WOW. So most places want to hire you only if you've got 2 or 3 years of experience. I thought that sucked but then I went to the AHDI site where I found out that being an MT is not exactly something you should be looking into for part time from home work and I also found out that it's not something that can be learned in a 6 week course. Medical Transcription in a legitimate class is something that takes anywhere from 9-18 months to learn and is better suited for someone looking to do it as a full time job, since it's so hard to learn. Whew. So basically I saved my dad $360 and myself a lot of wasted time.

Well dang it I still want a part time job that I can do from the comfort of my own home. According to Kim Komando I still have Transcription as an option... but it's not Medical or Legal, it's General. And the best part is I don't need classes it's pretty much something you just practice to get better at it. So I'm gonna try to save up enough money to buy a transcription pedal and some good noise canceling earphones and then I'm gonna try and apply for a job as a transcriptionist. I guess we'll see how this one goes...maybe I'll actually get luck this time!
