On Steroids

I certainly had a really rough weekend! Thursday was nice, I went to Physcial Therapy at 4 and then home to read my book for a while before having dinner with my parents and doing pretty much nothing the rest of the night. However, lately my back has started some serious cramping at night. So basically I didn't sleep much until Friday morning. I was up and down all night, tossing and turning. I got up Friday morning and dealt with the dogs and then layed back down. I wanted to hang out with my little sister so I called her up and she came over. Ever since my birthday I've been craving Cheesecake Factory's Strawberry Shortcake. So we drove to the mall and ordered that and the Avacado Eggrolls (for my mom) and then went to look around for about twenty minutes. Brenna wanted to go into Wilson Leather and look at purses since they were having a sale. BAD idea. I saw this wallet that was 75%

off and it was cute, and I really needed a new wallet because mine was falling apart. The lady told me that it was $8.50, Seriously? Yeah, so I held on to it. Then I was looking at the purses on the same rack and found one I absolutely LOVED, oh that's only $24.50, NO WAY! So I held on to it. I ended up buying the purse and the wallet and only spent about 30 something. I now have a LEATHER wallet and Pocketbook that will last a heck of a lot longer than my normal stuff AND it was cheap. The purse was originally $98 and the wallet was $34, I GOT A DEAL! (the purse I got is Coral Red and the Wallet is a dark brown but the pictures are what the look like in style). Anyhow, we walked around abit more then my back started to really hurt so we really had to go. We picked up our food and headed on home where I just had to go lay down.

Friday night was, again, a lot like Thursday night... Painful. Saturday I had to get up and go with my dad to get dog food at Sam's Club and we did a little grocery shopping but my back was hurting so it didn't last long. When I got home I layed around most of the day and watched movies. Then I watched a movie with my mom and my nieces came over and I watched movies with them. I wasn't feeling spectacular when I went to bed but I wasn't feeling terrible either. I went upstairs and to bed by like 10:30 and woke up screaming in pain at about 12 or 1. My muscles were contracting and cramping so hard it felt like I had a charlyhorse in my back. My mom made me go lay in her bed and I spent the night in there getting up and down because of the pain. I had taken a vicoden before I went to bed and then one of the times I got up I took two of my muscle relaxers (which is okay, I checked with the Dr.). At about 3:30am I stood up with a cramp and got very dizzy and very nauseous. I made a break for the bathroom as fast as I could and turned on the light. I couldn't see. I mean I could see but it was like I was looking through a bunch of rings and a dark tunnel. I got all cold and started sweating and thought I was going to throw up so I moved to the sink, I really didn't think I could make it down to the toilet, and I started screaming for my mom and dad. Everything was going dark and my ears were ringing and then my legs started giving out. My dad stood behind me holding on and then all of a sudden my body just collapsed. I've been saying a blacked out but I never really lost conciousness I just fell to the floor. Luckily my dad was there holding me so I didn't hit the floor hard or anything. I just layed there sweating and cold and in pain and my arms and legs seizing like I was having some sort of a fit. I was so scared, and I know my parents were terrified. Finally it passed and I layed back down and went to sleep for a little while before it was daylight. Needless to say, I stayed at home all day Sunday. My muscles were all very tired and I couldn't do a lot of moving so I layed on the couch and my parents kept an eye on me. I pretty much made it through the whole day with out a whole lot more pain and then when night came, so did the pain. We'd had enough.

I called in to work to let them know I was heading to the Dr. as soon as possible and that I would try to be in later that day. My dad got me an appointment by 10:30 and we were on our way to Cary. I went in and told the Dr. what had been happening and she told me she wants me to do an MRI since they've tried everything and nothing seems to be working. She put me on an oral sterroid and gave me a stronger muscle relaxer and signed me up for an MRI. So tomorrow morning I have to go in for my MRI and by Monday I should know what is actually going on in my back. Hopefully by then though the sterroids will have straightened me out. I'm in a bit of pain today but I did my exercises this morning so hopefully I'll make it through the day and not be in too much pain.

PS- I also have a job interview Thursday morning! YAY!
