A Formal Gathering
Aaaah what a wonderful day Saturday was. I got up, still having back pains mind you, did my thing showered and got ready to leave. I went to check out the house with Stephanie and we met Eric there. Hopefully we can keep him on track because I just want to move already. It's looking a bit more promising though.
After the trip to the house Stephanie and I embarked upon a well known ritual for high school girls, the pre-prom primp. We were not going to the prom, as this title suggests, but to Ariel's Formal 25th Birthday. As I've stated in previous blogs we planned to get dressed up really fancy and go to the cheesecake Factory for dinner and then to either mini-golf or bowling. Stephanie and I put in a teeny bopper movie, She's all that, and we drank strawberry daquiries and did our nails and makeup. We had so much fun just chilling around. A few of the people (like 5) met us at Stephanie's and we drove over to the Cheesecake Factory. Jamie went early to secure enough tables for the 20 people that were coming and the buzzer went off early. So the guy, I assume he was the manager that night, said that as a courtesy to the other guests we could only be seated if we had most of our party. Okay well having worked in the restaurant industry as like my second job EVER I completely understand this...HOWEVER, about five minutes after he gave us 10 minutes to get a "majority" of our party there, we had 10 people. Now to most intelligent people that is half or even a majority of our party. According to this bozo though we needed at least 12 people! What the crap is that about? So we had to wait about two more minutes before three more people showed up so we were seated and they wanted to be sure the rest of our party was coming soon or they would start taking away tabels. Gradually we filled up all but one table and I told them that we still had two people coming but they could take the last table away since they could fit at the other table.
Finally everyone was there and the eating and chitchat comenced. Good times were had and tons of pictures were taken. Laurel is one of the awesomest people I know and she brought me her tiara to wear! So I got to wear a beautiful crown for my birthday. I sat at the head of the long table with my sister and Sara next to me. It was really great that my sister was able to make it. I worry about her constantly and wish she had more good friends and so what better way to make sure she does than to invite her to hang out with people I know are completely awesome? I felt like such an awful person though because I really wanted to sit by Stephanie... I mean hell she paid for my dinner! I got to golf with her though and we got some really good pictures together and we hung out all before hand so I guess that's okay but I still feel really bad about it. Not to mention everyone kept telling me (my dad, Sara, my sister, my mom, Stephanie) that since it was my birthday I should not pay for anything. I don't like that. I know my friends don't make a lot of money and they're always doing fabulous things for me so I hate to have them pay for me to eat. My bill was too expensive to have someone else pay but there Stephanie was taking care of it for me. And then when we went golfing Sara bought my game. I know it's just them being nice for my birthday but I just feel like a mooch whenever people pay for stuff like that. SO for Stephanie's birthday we're going to do something absolutely FABULOUS and she wont have to spend a penny.
So when we finished dinner we went to a putt putt place near by and played mini-golf for one round. It was loads of fun. I've got so many pictures I just haven't had the time yet to upload them... I'll be sure to go back and add them in my next post. After the putt putt a few of us went over to Todd's apartment and played rock band. That was so amazingly fun! I had a blast. Brenna came and we all rocked out and had a good time. Stephanie Sara and I left earlier than the others because, well, we were tired. When I got home I was sooo sore. I think overall I just had too much fun! lol. Either way, I had the very best birthday that I've had in years!
