Severe Heat = No Sleep

So, all weekend it was hot as hell in my house. And I mean that quite literally. Saturday morning I woke up to sweat on my pillow. YUCK! That's so gross. And fortunately Jordan and I had the same thought, we will be turning on the AC this year. We had to leave the house and run some errands so you would think it would have made sense for us to go ahead and cool the house down while we were gone...we didn't think of that. When we got home Jordan had to go to work and I turned the AC on. Four hours later Jordan came home and it was still 88 degrees inside the house. I called my dad just to be certain we didn't just have an incredibly slow cooling unit...he informed me if it's been that long it's not slow, it's broken. Crap!

Another night of unbearable heat. Just a note here: my room is upstairs so it tends to be hotter than the downstairs rooms. I have my window open, a fan in the window, the ceiling fan on high and a fan in the doorway. One fan faces in one faces out. This moves the air through the room better...or it would if the air wasn't so thick and hot. Anyway Sunday afternoon (because we didn't wake up until then) Jordan called the Landlord and he said he'd try to get his guy out the same day to work on it. Sure enough he pulled through! It was completely unexpected. The dude showed up at the door, went around to the side and fixed the AC, and suddenly the temperature started to drop! One degree at a time for the next two hours and it finally dropped to 82. Nice.

The only problem is, it was STILL hell hot upstairs. We set the AC at 80...you might think that's high but when you went all last summer with no AC anything lower is too cold. However, I think we may need to go a few more degrees lower because I didn't get any sleep at all last night. It was so hot my that even my mind was suffering and so I stayed awake thinking and thinking and thinking. I imagined all kinds of odd things, I'm not sure why, but I didn't fall asleep until after 1am, that was the last time I looked at the clock. I turned the AC down two degrees and I hope to come home to a much cooler house today. I hope I hope I hope!!!
