Exhaustion Sucks

Mostly I do it to myself but this time I can't take the blame. It's this God forsaken heat! Through the weekend I suffered headaches, no doubt my own doing from not drinking enough water but also a dual effect brought on by this blasted muggy crap. After spending a weekend with more children than I think I'll ever be used to I was so looking forward to a night spent sprawled across my own bed unconscious. Little did I know my roommate had turned the air up to 80. It was cool enough downstairs but up in my room the temperature is always at least 15 degrees hotter, possibly way more.

I lay in my bed with the ceiling fan on medium and the box fans in the doorway on high. I tossed. I turned. I did freaking pirouettes. I could not get comfortable enough to fall asleep. My eyes stayed closed and I faded in and out of consciousness most of the night until finally I woke up and began to whine loudly about my frustration with this stupid house! It's ridiculous! There's no excuse for this kind of temperature in one part of the house whilst the other part is perfectly cooled. I cranked my ceiling fan up to high...oh yeah now I remember why I don't turn it up that high... clickity clack, clickity CLACK, CLICKITY CLACKITY!!! UGH! That's worse than the heat...no they're the same.

I finally had a lucid thought around 4am, perhaps the AC upstairs isn't working at all! And so, I got up and stuck my hand on the vent...warm and no air flow. DANG! I laid back down. Then around five I had yet another thought, perhaps Jordan turned the air off while I was gone... although God only knows why she would do that and leave every window in the place locked tight...I tripped down the stairs and saw the thermostat set at 80, DEAR GOD! NO WONDER IT'S SO BLOODY HOT! I turned it down two degrees and went up stairs. It didn't make much of a difference and the fan was clickity clacking away and so I just lay there and stared up at the ceiling wondering what I had done to deserve this horrid lack of sleep after such a long weekend.

I would drag that bed downstairs in a heartbeat. Sleep is more important than having space in your living room ;)
