Tir Na Nog

I can't believe I forgot to update on my most recent restaurant trip. Another coupon lead to another trip to a restaurant we've never tried before, Tir Na Nog.Funny that I've lived in Raleigh practically my whole life and I've never been to Tir Na Nog before. It's a really great pub with live music and fantastic food. I've been twice now, the first time Jordan and I went I tried the Traditional Irish Boxty in the Connemara. The Boxty is a potato cake with different stuff on top...so I got the Connemara, it's herb roasted chicken with grilled red peppers and onions in a Havarti cheese sauce. It was ridiculously tasty! I highly reccomend it to anyone that checks out this lovely pub. We also go dessert, I tried the chocolate Truffle Tart...wow, it was sooo fantastic. The second time I went with my friend Emily and had a different version of the Boxty, I tried the Donegal, Marinated and grilled portobello mushrooms with roasted red peppers, onions, leeks, and herb cream cheese. Not so much. This one I was not terribly thrilled with, so I really can't reccomend it to anyone. lol.

The food wasn't the only amazing thing, the live music was really fun. Earlier in the evenings they have traditional music and then later they seem to have mostly local bands. It was really fun. So check out Tir Na Nog on South Blount Street, if you haven't already.

Second Kelley's love for Tir Na Nog...especially since one of my most fav memories includes Kelley+Tir Na Nog=FaNtAsTiC!

Cool music, and not the average bar food, agreed. Fun!
