Eat and be Energized
So apparently the secret to losing weight is...
EAT
That is right folks you must eat. According to Dr.'s and previously fat people the best way to get thin is to eat at least 3 squares a day and at most 6 smaller meals a day...starting with a healthy breakfast. About.com says that If you do not eat breakfast your body goes into "hoard mode". Basically you've not eaten anything for the 8 (or in most cases more like 6) hours you were asleep and you wont be eating again until lunch. So, say you eat a late-ish dinner at 8pm and go to bed at 11, your day starts at 7am and you don't have lunch until 12pm. That is 13 hours of foodlessness your body is experiencing.
No wonder we are a society of overweight goobers! Nobody eats breakfast anymore because we just don't have time. All these commercials for cereals and breakfast foods touting the importance of breakfast aren't just telling you that to get you to buy their product, it's because it's true. A healthy breakfast not only jump starts your metabolism every day but it really does make a difference in the way you feel when you're at work/school/wherever. I've noticed on the days when I skip breakfast I feel quite light headed and drowsy and way too sluggish to be a mere 26 years old.
I am going to start making sure I eat 3 meals a day and maybe a healthy snack in between. This evening I'm going to the store to buy enough oatmeal and bagels and cream cheese OH and some travel sized orange juice, to last me two weeks. I will be certain to keep you all apprised of my progress. :-)

i ate 3 small means and 2 snacks a day and lost 6 lbs. I still have 12 more to go but it's a start. now my body has gotten used to that amount of food so i think i'm going to have to start working out BLAH!
It's so true! You feel so much better throughout the day when you've had a substantial breakfast. It also helps so that you aren't completely famished by lunch time and end up overeating.
Six small meals is great but hard to do because we're so used to eating large portions. A friend once told me in relation to controlling your portions, "Remember, you are going to eat again tomorrow. There's no reason to pack yourself full for every meal."
sweet - but i guess it means a healthy breakfast too!! haha!!
