Under Pressure

I've got a YSA Conference coming up this weekend. Planning this whole thing has been hellacious. And after checking the weather for this weekend I may cry..no BAWL! if that report doesn't change. Everything is supposed to be outside! It can NOT rain...everyone please cross your fingers and pray that it will not rain Saturday. PLEASE!

I'm excited for it, regardless of all the pressure it seems to have put on me. I love to plan things and see them put into action. It's difficult but oh so rewarding. It's like when you start a drawing and it seems like it will take FOREVER before you get to the end of it and you keep having to erase and start over in some spots but then finally one day you're done and the finished product is fabulous. That's about how this feels. After much "erasing" and starting over we were finally able to start putting things in motion and slowly this fabulous image of what we'll have has started to form. I'm beyond excited to see the end product.

In the meantime, however, I will be running around like a mad woman trying to make sure everything gets done and done right. I want people to remember this conference but not because it sucked. I will forever remember my last conference because it was seriously crappy. I don't want to be remembered as the genius that planned a horrible conference and no one showed up and then people that did come tell all their friends what a terrible time they had and no one comes the following year. I want people to go home and tell their friends how fabulous it was and how excited they are to see what we do the next time! And I really want to see the numbers of attendees double for next years conference.

I'm really glad that I was called to be the Activities Committee Chair. It's been a lot of fun for my creative side. I've still got two large activities to plan and put into motion and two more dances. I'm most excited for the New Years Eve dance I have planned. It is going to go down as the most amazing New Years Dance the ward has ever thrown (in my book anyway!)... and that will be saying a lot if I can top Jennifer's Willy Wonka themed dance from last year. I wont share the idea just yet but I can say this... be prepared to get all gussied up!
