Saturday Was a Blast!

I'm still recovering from my full day at the Fair. I swear there is no other way to do the fair than going on the first Saturday and riding it out until it gets dark. I love it.
I showed up early at Sara and Paul's place and waited on everyone else to arrive. We drove down to the free parking (because I've got mad hookups) and walked over to the Fair. I went with 4 married couples and a new born-ish baby. It was very odd for me not having a significant other to fawn all over the whole time but I got to rock the baby stroller and it's the bomb! I recommend everyone get one before going to the Fair because that thing clears a path like nothing else.

We got there and went straight for the food. My favorite lunch item= Gyros! YAY! It was so amazingly tasty. Next we cruised the farm machinery and then over to the Village of Yesteryear where I proceeded to buy Christmas presents for family members and a friend. We then went to check out the animals and exhibits, where I got my honey cotton candy, then the free stuff and rides.

I only had 3 ride requirements:

1. Ferris Wheel

2. Merry Go Round

3. Tilt-a-Whirl

I didn't get to ride the tilt-a-whirl but I did ride something close enough for me and it was still fun. No one really wanted to ride any rides except me so Anna let me borrow her husband Tom so I could use my last 5 tickets.

The rides were followed by waiting around for Sara so feed the baby one last time and deep fried candy bars and old fashioned root beer in collectable style mugs. By the time we'd made our rounds and it started to get crowded and dark, it was time to go on home. Tremendous amounts of fun were had by all. Me especially. I can honestly stick to my claim...The State Fair is the best part of the fall season in North Carolina.
