Camping

So, this weekend I will be camping in the mountains of Tennessee, more specifically Erwin TN. A group of my friends are all going rafting and I was coherced into going. I'm glad. I didn't realize how excited I was until I went shopping and had to set up the tent.
Monday after work I stopped at Walmart to get some bug repelent and bought various other items as well. I got a lantern because I know my parents have one but it takes like 8 batteries and the one I got only takes four so I can use it longer because I got two 4 packs of batteries. Silly I know but the logic makes sense in my head. I also got a First Aid kit. I am SO proud of myself for caving in and buying one because well, I'm bound to get hurt. If I don't it will be a big shocker but at least I'll have been prepaired. I'm like the worlds biggest clutz, home injuries are my speciality but I'm sure being out in the wilderness I'm bound to come out of it wounded somehow. I got my bug repelent too, it's woodsmen MAX! Yes siree, I need all 40% of that Deet. I don't want no bugs on me. LOL.

After my shopping spree I figured out that I'd better go pull my tent out of the storage building. So dad and I got the tent and set it up... the instructions were glued together from having been rained on and then drying that way... so I'd say we did an awesome job considering the circumstances. Anyhow, there are two poles that I have no idea what they're there for. Maybe one of the other people will know. I pulled out the vaccum cleaner and sucked up all the sand because the last time I'd used the tent was my Sophomore year of college when I went to the beach with Scott, Alaina and the English people (Spencer and Emma were from England, thus the nickname). Anyhow, the tent is HUGE! It's 18' by 10' and has three rooms so we could fit six people in there and still have tons of room. I also decided to go into the storage building and pull out all our old camping chairs. My family was big on camping during my youth and I'm SOOO thankful for that. I now have four extra chairs for anyone that wants to borrow one. I even pulled them out and made sure there were no bugs or spiders on them. So the car's loaded up and I'm READY! I packed my bag on Monday and have been gradually adding things in as I do the wash.
My Last camping Trip: To Emrald Isle and Fort Macon
It has been FAR too long since I've been up to the mountains (actually it's been almost a full year) AND it's been way WAY too long since the last time I went camping. I'm so excited that I can't focus on work and I've got two more days of it! GAH!
