6 Month Cleaning

My lovely, high option, dental plan allows me to have my teeth cleaned every six months. Today was that day. The lady that cleans my teeth is a fairly nice person and always asks how I am and that kind of small chatter while she sets up her tools of torture... but when it comes to teeth cleaning she's a real beast! I realize I don't have the easiest teeth to get clean because they tend to overlap a bit and I do eat a lot of crap that shouldn't, but dang. I always feel like I'm being stabbed in the mouth when I go, she pokes and prods at my gums with her little pick thinggy and then she proceeds to scrape my teeth. That 's the part that sucks because man she can really scrape.
Aparently it was about time for me to get my teeth x-rayed as well. I hate that even more than the painful scraping of the teeth. So if you don't know, and I'm sure most of you do, they stick this plastic thinggy in your mouth and make you bite on it, well when you do that it stabs into the soft tissue under your tongue and then it seems like it takes them FOREVER to line up the stupid x-ray machine and then run out of the room to take the picture. By the time they say, okay you can spit that one out, you've got drool pooling all in the bottom of your mouth and you feel like an idiot as you stick the platic thing out and they have to take it... it's a darn good thing they wear those plastic gloves. I just can't stand having all the drool around my mouth, I feel so infantile when that happens. It's just gross.

I don't hate the dentist, they're fairly nice people, and I LOVE it when they tell me my teeth look good but I am just not a big fan of all the pain that they put you through. Why do teeth have to be so painful to keep up?
