A Long Weekend

Imagine my disappointment when on Saturday morning I got up extremely early just to go to Wal-mart and pick up a reusable grocery sack... and they didn't even know what I was talking about. I was so excited to be trying to save the earth one plastic bag at a time but then I get there and ask about the free reusable bag and the lady says "huh?". Alrighty, fine. I didn't want to recycle anyhow. No seriously, I'm very upset about this. Is anyone aware of any stores giving away free grocery bags, since today is like earth day? Has anyone ever seen someone using a reusable bag? I think I have once. Why don't more of us do this? Ahhh the questions keep on coming.

Let me flash back on my weekend for a moment. Friday I went to dinner with Tom, Anna, and Sara. We had dinner at the Panera by Triangle Towne Center, then we perused the Best Buy, Target, and DSW. I finally used my gift card Steph got me for my birthday...3 months later... but I got some sweet red shoes. I only had to spend about $14 of my own money and I'm extremely happy with these shoes. We then went back to Sara's apartment for some fun. We played go fish, 21, and some other card game I can't remember the name of but it was my favorite. Basically, you get to slap hands and it's fun... except I suck at it and lost every time.

Saturday I did my shopping and then relaxed a bit before my sister called. Sara and I had made plans to go to Jordan lake and Brenna wanted me to go to a concert. So I asked her to come along and we all three drove to Jordan lake and layed out in the sun and then in the clouds. I really had a good time even if it wasn't the real beach. We basically hung out the entire day and then Brenna and I went to see The Breakfast Club at the Lincoln Theater. It proved to be very interesting. I'd invited my friend Laurel to come along and she's a trip. The music was fantastic and extremely LOUD and the place was crowded. Since it was pretty much standing room only my feet started to get really sore so we only stayed through half the concert but that was okay with the other two because while it was fun... it was only fun for a little while. I do recommend everyone check them out sometime though. They make regular trips to Raleigh and are a fabulous 80's cover band.

Anyhow, Sunday was church and then a nap and then over to Tom and Anna's new house for dinner and a light show. LOL There was a really awesome thunderstorm and tons of lightening. We even had quite a bit of hail. I woke up Monday morning with a horrendous stomach ache, I was feeling all kinds of queasy, and so I called in sick for the day. One of the best things about working for the state is Sick leave and paid vacation. And now I'm back at work. YAY... just kidding. I'm just glad that it appears no one touched my scanner while I was gone, I might have to break a few heads if that had been the case. I know it's not mine, it's the state's scanner but still! I just got this fabulous brand new piece of equipment and the last thing I need is for a bunch of dingbats that don't know how to use it, to try and then break it. I would cry and wreak havoc all over the office. :-) seriously.

Anyhow I've got work to do since I was out for a day. Keep me posted on your thoughts and information about those reusable bags folks!
