Following Instructions
Working where I do, I have come to realize that the number of adults that are either stupid or just plain lazy...it astronomical! We are breeding a society of idiots and it seems to be unstoppable. Without being too descriptive, I'll clue you in on my frustration.
When you log onto a web page, do you automatically just start clicking away at buttons? Or do you take a few moments to look over what's there and see if you can find your way through it? The people I talk to just start clicking buttons and obviously don't take the time to read the instructions that are clearly posted on the web page...not to mention they tell me how difficult our site is to navigate and we should really post these instructions that I'm giving them on there so they don't have to call. When people make this suggestion I just smile, nod (although they can't see this part) and say with a happy voice "Okay". When really what I want to say is, hello you moron! They're right there in front of your face if you would take two seconds to step outside of your normal idiot routine you'd probably have seen them.
Okay that may be just a tad mean and uncalled for but it's hard not to be frustrated when you get the same call 50+ times...a DAY. *sigh*
So, world at large...take this in, absorb it, then do it...Slow down, take the time to read the instructions BEFORE getting 10 steps ahead of yourself and having to have someone come to your rescue. It'll save some people some serious stress, frustration, and maybe even a little indigestion ;-)
