Christmas In 10
YAY! I have something to write about! LOL. This Christmas has been quite exciting really. It was my first Christmas working for a State Agency where they actually did something. We had a huge Christmas party where tons of retirees were invited AND our supervisors paid out of their own pocket for our catered meal. That never happened at DOT, NEVER...we always paid for our own stuff. AND after the lunch part of the party it wasn't over and back to work, no no! We played games! Another thing that never happened when working for the DOT. I had a blast getting to bond a little with a few of my co-workers and it was fun to see the director having a good time with her employees instead of just hiding out in an office. Oh yeah and she also provided awesome prizes for the winners of the games.
Not only did work provide a great Christmas but so did my family. I actually got to host Christmas as my house for the first time ever and it felt pretty great! I made green bean casserole and sweet potato casserole and then mom brought ham, rolls, and spinach. We had a late lunch around 2 or 3 and then we opened presents. Jackie and I got dad Isotoner gloves and a new wallet and we got mom Godiva dark chocolate hot cocoa and a box of Godiva dark chocolates as well as the free candy bar and $10 gift card they threw in for spending so much money in the store. Jackie got two books he's been wanting for a while, The Silmarillion and The Hobbit, in hardback. And I got a spiffy new Toshiba Lappy in Purple!! It was a spectacular Christmas! And then as if by magic, the weathermen were right and we had a white Christmas, even if it didn't start until it got dark outside. :-)
I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas as well!
